-i friends! And just like that – February is finished and here is my February wrap-up! As you are aware, I set myself up for failure with my monthly to be read pile. I mean, thank you everyone who believed in me, sorry to have let you down… I crept right back into the dark hole of not having the motivation to read this month and poof hopelessly behind my reading schedule. Oops!

Here’s what I got up to in February 2019

Besides being a complete and utter failure, I had a relatively good month. I went against everything I believe in and purchased a KINDLE and to my horror discovered that I L O V E it. *Shudders in fear and hugs every physical book to say sorry!*

 I  finished 4 books!

You – Caroline Kepnes

When I stumbled across You on Netflix, I binged the hell out of it by finishing the first season in one day. Absolutely loved it! I was a little apprehensive about the book, but let me say it is as good as the series! Solid 4/5.

Never Tell – Lisa Gardner (NetGalley ARC – available now)

It was my best friend who introduced me to Lisa Gardner’s books. Live to Tell was a 5/5 and I was looking forward to meeting D.C. Warren again. Never Tell is a twisty, secretive, thrilling page turner, well worth the 4/5.

Twisted – Steve Cavanagh (NetGalley ARC, Pub Date: 04 April 2019)

I am a self proclaimed Steve Cavanagh fan girl #1. Twisted was good, maybe a touch too twisty, but did not compare to Eddie Flynn series. That’s why I gave it 4/5. Some might say I need to let go of familiarity and accept the author is not going to be writing all the same books all the time.. but truthfully his previous books suit his style so well!

The Lady  of the Rivers – Philippa Gregory

Oh I was so excited when I finally fished out one of the historical fictions from the TBR book jar! Absolutely love, love, love the story told through the eyes of Jacquetta of Luxembourg. 5/5.

I broke my book buying ban. AGAIN!

Perhaps it’s time I admit there’s no point in banning the book purchases…

Charity shop finds:

Julia Heaberlin – Black-Eyed Susans

Celeste Ng – Little Fires Everywhere (I see this book… e v e r y w h e r e, wanted to see what the fuss is all about)

Jodi Picoult – Plain Truth

Laura Purcell – The Corset (I was going to wait until the paperback comes out.. oh well, I’m very excited!)

Kindle purchases:

Paul Tremblay – A Head Full of Ghosts

J.K Rowling – Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (it feels like a deadly sin that I have not yet read HP series! I’ll fix it, have no fear!)

Lucinda Berry – The Perfect Child

I got approved for further two NetGalley ARCs:

C.L Taylor – Sleep (ARC, Pub Date: 04 April 2019)

Annie Ward – Beautiful Bad (ARC, Pub Date: 21 March 2019)

And I am hosting my first ever Instagram Giveaway! Make sure you go check it out.

So, overall.. not a bad month at all! I mean, yes, I didn’t reach my reading goal, but I did read some good quality books and I’m happy with that!

How did you challenge yourself in February? Let me know in the comments!

Kat x
