Happy Sunday, friends! How has this week treated you? As is the case every year, January seems to last for many years, but somehow the weekends come around very quickly. Mind, they’re also over quicker! So with that here’s week 3 weekly (reading) update for you all..

I shall keep this nice and short(ish) for you, so that I can return to binge Bridgerton that’s currently paused on the background! Ha!!

BOOKS

I finally finished the two books that I’ve been reading for quite some time.

  • Half a World Away by Mike Gayle (5/5) – read more here.
  • Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin (3.5/5) – review to come this week 🙂

I also started The Troop in bed last night, and immediately regretted it! It’s pretty gory from the start. That will be a fun ride for sure! Very excited to continue.

Another book that I started this morning is The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah. I will keep you guys in the loop how I’m getting on, but so far it’s keeping my interest.

TV SHOWS

The boyfriend and I watched the Night Stalker, limited series on Netflix, about the serial killer in California who kept the communities under his devilish grip in the 1980s. For any true crime enthusiast, it’s a really interesting watch.

And of course as I mentioned earlier, I have jumped on the Bridgerton bandwagon and I am just obsessed. “Period dramas” are absolutely up my street, and I am really, really enjoying it so far.

MUSIC

This week I’ve been absolutely obsessed with this one particular song:

I don’t normally listen to a lot of music, but have found over the past week or so that having a melody in the background with the “fake fire” on TV really helps me concentrate and dive into a book much easier.

So that concludes this week (reading) update. Let me know if you’d like me to keep it strictly book related or would you like me to include a general update how my week has been in general with additional shows and songs I’ve been loving 😛

Speak soon!
