An outstanding start to my November reads! I will forever be grateful to my best friend for bringing me two copies of Lisa Gardner’s books all the way from across the pond!
I’ve previously mentioned how I must have lived my whole life under a rock – evidently this is still the case. Which I guess is another reason why I started this blog. Over the last two and a bit months, I’ve discovered some amazing books and authors!
I had never heard of Lisa Gardner before (what’s my life?!); my only solace is that there are so many books I haven’t read yet and can now catch up to all of the long-time fans of her! Watch out – new fan over here.

The book follows the narrative alternating between the three women – Danielle, Victoria and detective D.D. Warren. Cleverly constructed story-line with a few shockers I didn’t see coming. The plot knocked me sideways from the get-go and the author kept me engaged throughout.
I felt sorry for Danielle who carried around an immense burden of survivor’s guilt. With the 25th anniversary of the day she lost her whole family coming around, she drowned herself in work. I was absolutely blown away by the day-to-day life of the pediatric psych ward; and take my hat off to the nurses who work tirelessly day in and out with damaged children. Not gonna lie- it was an enormous shock to the system.

A bit of romance (or the lack of thereof); a lot of disturbance; a great deal of edginess and a touch of whodunnit. Live to Tell is full of twisters and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout to the very end; and at times had me read through my fingers! Nearly impossible to put down once you start.
I would highly recommend if you like crime and suspense thrillers.
