My boyfriend made a point the other day when he noticed that I had bought yet another book. (It was Pet Sematary, so totally okay!) He accused me of storing books everywhere; that anywhere he looked there were stacks of books and I can’t even fit them on the bookshelf anymore! (I personally think that we just don’t have enough shelves!!) It got me thinking that surely I’ve made a bit of progress with my TBR and there aren’t actually THAT many unread books in our house. Right?!
Riiiiight, so back in January I wrote a post about the TBR from Hell and how I planned to tackle it. Thinking I’ve made great progress I just needed an updated list to prove him wrong! It has proved me wrong instead! Since January I’ve actually managed to collect a further 20 books and must agree that I am just a little bit OUT OF CONTROL!
Here is the updated list. (Please send help.)
Also, can someone please block all my cards so that I can’t buy any more books until I get through most of the below!?

I am not okay. A total of 114 unread books. Utterly ridiculous amount of books to have for someone that averages roughly 1.5 books a week. With this rate it would take me 76 weeks to get through all of them!
How many books have you got on your list to read? Let me know, and if there is any books on this list I should prioritise give me a shout, too!
Now, don’t mind me, just hiding under the bed pretending this isn’t my life. Bye!
I’ve mentioned this a few times on my blog, but in 2016, near the end of the year, I realized that I had 332 books marked as Want to Read on Goodreads. YIKES. I set about reading almost solely from that list, read about 200 of them, and then went through and cleaned the list up a little (I got it down to 50-some books, and now, thanks to other book bloggers, it’s back up to 70-something, haha!). I think reading down a TBR is just a way of living, since it’ll never, ever be at 0!
I LOVED The Time Traveler’s Wife. The Hate U Give is incredible as well. And I really enjoyed The Girls- which was part of the 200 books I read from my Goodreads list. 🙂 Happy reading!
OH MY GOOOOOOOOOSH! 332 books it’d take me an eternity to read all those lol!! Very well done for bringing them down to 50 (and eventually up 70, bookish community is to blame for most of my purchases too!)
I’m not buying any more books until I get my TBR down at least another 10 books haha x
There’s so many good ones on this list, how are you meant to try and prioritise any of them?!
I’m totally biased but I vote The Green Mile – it’s one of my all time favourite Stephen King books!
My TBR is around the 70 mark just now I think? Split between my kindle and physical books so a bit harder to keep track of haha. Plus I have about 6 more on preorder for later in the year 🙈
I know right!! I am very excited to read the Green Mile so definitely getting to it soon 😊 I loved the film soo much 💕
70 isn’t too bad right? 👀
Which books have you pre-ordered??
