Welcome to Thursday Quotables!
I am forever writing down quotes I like either on my phone or on a piece of paper whilst I read. The quotes used to make an appearance in the reviews quite a lot. As I’m playing around with the layouts and how I want my reviews to be, the quotes don’t quite make the cut so often anymore. Therefore Thursday Quotables is the perfect outlet so that they get the attention they deserve.
Thursday Quotables is the place to highlight a great quote, line, or passage discovered during your reading each week. Whether it’s something funny, startling, gut-wrenching, or just really beautifully written. Thursday Quotables is where my favorite lines will be, and you’re invited to join in! Created by Lisa, over at Bookshelf Fantasies, and joined in by, well, me!

This week’s choice is my current read – Sleep by C.L. Taylor.
But grief can’t be cast off like a jacket. It becomes part of you, an invisible film welded to your skin.
Oh boy! This hit me, and it hit me hard, right in all the feels. It’s shortly coming up to 4 years from when our family suffered a sudden loss and quite frankly it feels like forever ago but the grief is still raw. And I have accepted that it always will be. It truly does become part of you, and you learn to live with the invisible cloud that you cannot get rid of.
I also finished A Whole New World (A Twisted Tale) by Liz Braswell earlier this week, so let me leave you with this to lighten the mood:
Well, all right then,” the genie said cautiously, but sounding happier. “We’ll travel the world, escaping our past… Let’s pack it up and go, shorty.
Genie has always been my favourite character, so witty and funny. Love him!
What’s your favourite quote from this week? Let me know in the comments, and don’t forget to go check out Lisa’s blog 🙂
Terrific quotes! The first is really powerful… and just gotta love Genie!
Thanks! And thanks for the idea, too. X
