Into The Water was one of my holiday reads this summer. I must admit I had high expectations for it – I loved “The Girl on the Train”.
Synopsis
Just days before her sister plunged to her death, Jules ignored her call.
Now Nel is dead. They say she jumped. And Jules must return to her sisters’s house to care for her daughter, and to face the mystery of Nel’s death.

An event in Jules Abbott’s past estranged her and her sister Nel and she left Beckford as soon as she was able to, hoping never to return.
Jules was forced to return to look after the 15-year-old daughter of her sister, following the tragic news of her apparent suicide.
But she wasn’t the only one to die in The Drowning Pool.
The book follows a twisty story through the different perspectives of many locals and a police investigation with an ending I was not expecting! *applauds*
Opinion
Into the Water was full of characters and I was relieved I could refresh my memory on how they all relate to each other in “The People of Beckford” section at the start. Thank you, Paula!
Dark, yes perhaps, but a great twisty “whodunnit” whilst sipping on a cocktail by the pool.
4.5 out of 5 stars. I would read again.
