Can I get a woop-woop! I’ve finished the 4th book of 2019, and what a treat that was! The Plea is the second book in the Eddie Flynn series. In my opinion it can be read as a standalone, although I would suggest to read The Defence (Eddie Flynn #1) first as it does refer to it a few times throughout.

My thoughts: It’s official – Steve Cavanagh is my favourite author. The attention to detail in this book is remarkable. The Plea is so cleverly written and really a dazzling thriller. Super fast paced, with lovable (and a fair share of despisable) characters. The whole concept was so interesting to me.
Also its impossible not to fall in love with Eddie. A character who is hell-bent on truth, smart, trusts his gut and is prepared to do anything to prove his client’s innocence, even if it means choosing between his client and his wife. (FYI it isn’t the first time his family is at risk because of his profession)
I caught on to the twist pretty early on, so it’s not quite the “Th1rt3en” but it’s a five out of five nevertheless and I recommend highly! I am yet to be disappointed with Cavanagh’s book.
