BRAVO! I See You by Clare Mackintosh is a solid 5/5! In all honesty I wasn’t expecting anything less. As soon as I picked up “I let you go” I loved Clare’s style of writing. Her ability to bring the story to life is amazing and she never fails to throw a twist or two at you when you least expect it.

Blurb: When Zoe Walker sees her photo in the classifieds section of a London newspaper, she is determined to find out why it’s there.
There’s no explanation: just a grainy image, a website address and a phone number. She takes it home to her family, who are convinced it’s just someone who looks like Zoe. But the next day the advert shows a photo of a different woman, and another the day after that.
Is it a mistake? A coincidence? Or is someone keeping track of every move they make…
Not every footstep is following you, not everyone who runs is chasing you
Zoe Walker is a creature of habit. She enters the tube station at the same time each morning; she speaks to the busker briefly and throws a coin in the guitar case. She takes the same train and chooses the same carriage every day.
When she accidentally stumbles across a photo of a woman in a newspaper classifieds section, who she is convinced looks just like her, she needs to find out why it’s there.
But [she] showed me there were other men; men who would pay to play cat and mouse through the Underground, to hover by the parks at the exact moment you walk by, with something bigger on their mind than dinner.
The author could have basically been describing my daily commute. For a moment I was convinced she had been watching me whilst researching for this book.
I was finishing this book on my way back from the airport and as I got on the tube, I found myself looking over my shoulder a tiny bit more suspiciously than usual. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to look at my fellow commuters the same way ever again!
If you haven’t read the book already, I strongly suggest you do. Whether you are a Londoner or not, it will not disappoint. One of those that you do not want to put down.
As I said 5 stars out of 5.
